This is the story of my son Cameron, who committed suicide nearly five years ago. He suffered from bi-polar disorder. It is about his life, his dreams, his good times and his not so good times. It is also a book about me and how I learned about bipolar disorder. It is my journey too. It is about the mistakes I made in dealing with Cameron and then my realization and finally my understanding and above all the most important thing I learned was to listen. My hope is that this story of Cameron may be read by people out there who are now in the same position as I was with Cameron. I hope they will benefit from my experiences.

I did enjoy this book and was drawn to the title. It was a bit craggy at places and with held a lot of detail and left you wondering a lot. To a person not suffering from the disorder the author did the best they could with the info they had to work with. From a person that is afflicted with the disorder this book only skimmed the surface. My brother was a misdiagnosed bipolar suffer not unlike me, but 10 years ago he took his life but set me on a life sentence of anger and disappointment from him. I live every day with the thought of suicide but could never do it bc of my family. I am battling not unlike Cameron to find the right meds. I commend his mom for sharing his story with us along with his sister and the rest of the family. My last thoughts are, if u know a bipolar person, sometimes we just need to talk and cry to get it all out. Just take time to listen to us.........sometimes it is the difference between life and death.Product details

I have a son who is bipolar and has experienced many of the same things with the Department of Mental health. It is very frustrating dealing with Doctors who don't understand.
My son continues his fight every day. Some easier than others. This book has helped me see that as a parent I am doing a good job as a listener. I really like the idea of the elderly being used for per say counseling. They would be fantastic listeners.
